Hidden gem, on the 2nd floor overlooking Morro Bay. Elevator made it easily assessable. Celebrated a birthday with friends & they made it exceptional, starting with a virgin Bloody Mary and ending with carrot cake with a candle. Sharing the cobb salad and pulled pork nachos. Fabulous! Wonderful service. Thank you so much.
We had an amazing time here, food was fabulous and almost everything was homemade & you can tell! Kolton was so friendly, funny, and had great recommendations, I knew I could trust him after having those jalapeño poppers, we were lucky enough to get the last order of the night. We ordered the tri-tip sandwich = we liked it, could have been saucier but that's just us. Bay basket with battered mahi with battered fries = loved this, fresh fish, crunchy and lightly but had a lot of flavor. Homemade tater sauce was a bonus. Sweet potato waffle fries = if you like these, you know how hard it can be to get good ones, these are thin and crunchy but have a lot of flavor. Perfectly fried, not greasy, and homemade ranch is 10/10 Jalapeño poppers = not your usual poppers style, these are chopped peppers, cheese, and bacon rolled into balls and then coated in batter & fried. I've never had poppers like that but they are my new fav. So so flavorful & perfectly spicy and cheesy. These were a table favorite. Fried chicken sandwich = awesome homemade quality, crunchy but thick piece of meat, really loved the buffalo sauce, super tangy and hot! Seafood chowder = super fresh, loaded with dairy and cheese and bacon. Also very thick. So nice to have after being in the cold for a few hours.
First time to the Morro Grill and it was great! We were able to sit down on the patio immediately, but they did start a waiting list right after we arrived. Colton and the other servers were quick, friendly, and attentive. We ordered the Mushroom Swiss burger, a Santa Fe bowl, a cilantro lime bowl with tritip, and a kids coconut shrimp. All the food was great! Good portions and arrived hot and quick. We are excited to go back!
I ordered food to go at around 7:20pm since I knew they were closing soon! Was looking for some soup after a long day of traveling! Their seafood soup was amazing!! So tasty! They topped it off with chunks of shrimp! I wish I could have a larger serving of it. The togo bowl size is a bit small in my opinion! The battered fish tacos were also great! The fish was fried perfectly & I loved the sauce they pair it with! I always order sauce on the side so I can control how much to use & also in case I just wanted to eat one without the sauce. I definitely would come back to dine in person! I really wanted to try other items on the menu!
What didn't go well here?!!! The service: top tier The clam chowder, rich and flavorful The nachos: perfectly spiced and the pulled pork on them was so tender The shoe string fries: wonderfully crisp And the house made sauces were so delightful. Tell me you're looking for a good place to chill with friends before or after galavanting around the bay, and I'll tell you a thousand times to come to Morro Grill.
Been back a few time and decided to come support for sure now that we are in the off season. Glad to see them just after their 9 month anniversary still doing well. The staff is always friendly and the owner (I believe) was rocking a Steelers overall which was cool and great to see at a sports bar. Can't beat the friendly service and the great location. The food is consistently good here. We try to try at least one new thing each time. This last time I ordered the Grilled Jalapeno Burger with a side salad. We got the mini corn dogs for our daughter and my wife got the Southern Bowl with pulled pork. She was pretty stoked on the pulled pork on power bowl, since it isn't something you see often as an option. The pork was tender, shredded well, and sauced just right, it blended in so well with the power bowl flavors with beans, corn and other veggies. The mini corn dogs are perfect snack size for kids, and the "parent tax". I don't often get a side salad with a burger or sandwich, but I am glad I did. The cherry tomatoes and radishes were such a pleasant surprise, lots of flavor and texture all while being healthy, a smart way to balance out a burger. The Grilled Jalapeno Burger itself was super good. Just a perfect balance with the cream cheese and the jalapenos, spicy enough to make you want to keep eating it and not regret it. Super fresh burger and bun, the chipotle mayo made it a bit messy, but no complaints here. Morro Grill will continue to be one of our go to spots in town.
Went in on a Friday night (order to go) & it was pretty busy, so definitely want to get there early for a table inside. Also, doesn't hurt that there's a view! I ordered the Tri-Tip sandwich, fried zucchini & a slice of cheese cake. Food was good (I can see why it's busy) & the service was friendly. Definitely will go back! All in all: Good food, friendly & a water view! Worth trying out if you haven't yet.
Definitely a great spot for great food and sports! My wife and I really enjoyed everything. The service was friendly very casual dining indoor and outdoor available. Adult beverages available of course but definitely a place that kids are welcome to. We will be back for sure. Worth the $ for what you get.
My father requested we try this fairly new restaurant, we decided to sit outside! The view is amazing you can see morro rock right in front of you. Today it was 57 degrees, might sound cold. It wasn't! The service rocked, we were waited! Food was exceptional will most definitely be back
